Siemens S55 Details
rtech Hey JJ, if you want a phone with a cam, i would tell you to buy something else. Although the cam for the siemens is great AND comes with a flash, it is, at the end of it, a seperate attachment, and not inbuilt. Plus the 256 color display of the S55 makes the pics unrecognisable on the phone itself. It would be better to get the M55 for this. However, you can't fault the S55 as a phone, but, if you really need a camphone, I suggest u buy the new siemens with the inbuilt cam. or else, buy a M55 or S55 and buy a seperate digi-cam to carry around. This way you get a cam that takes good pics...adn a great phone!
Katie This is my 2nd Siemens phone, the first one broke with with no explanation. I replaced it with this phone. The phone works great as long as you don't use it. I had this phone for two weeks before the menu buttons broke. Then it would turn off for no reason. Then the phone would ring and I would press the talk button and it would hang up on the person and keep ringing unitl I took the battery out of the back. Maybe I was sold a demented phone but I was NOT happy at all with either of my Siemens phones!!!
Graham Am about to replace this phone but here are my comments after several years' use for what it's worth.
Good points - compact, light weight, attractive, menus simple to use.
Bad points - buttons on the side get pressed by accident every time you pick it up, keys stick when trying to text, hard to hear caller even on max volume, poor reception in areas where other phones give good reception.
AMJ I Have siemens s55, I have entered a wrong phonecode, I have only one trial before the phone is looked, help pleas
swod I disagree with both John and Tony!
What are you complaining about? There are lots of ringtones available on the net for free! Just pick one you like.
About the software: Siemens is the only manufacturer who provides their customers with free software updates! Check the siemens development site. Have you ever seen this on a Nokia ?? NO !
Emodi Sir,
Econet line is what am useing, but for some days now is going up/down, gievn me MNT,NITILE,also asking me to select network why?
Best regards
Emodi
dingo Got one two years ago, only real problem i have with it is that there are simply TOO many functions on it.
Although the buttons tend to fall off like leaves of a tree in autumn(I fixed mine with a couple of drops of secondglue)and the extra camera tends to snaps pictures only to display blurry images on the screen, and one cannot really hear it when it goes off in your pocket, even when it is set on loudest.
But the battery lasts for ages without any need for recharging, something of a problem with all my previous siemens phones, and it can take quite a beating wihout acting funny in any way.
So if you are not looking for a phone that is pretty, but you are looking for a reliable phone with loads of extras, then definately don`t pass this one up.
Shoneye Hassan The phone is really great.Though I'm presently using M35i but S55 will be my next phone if i'm to use another Siemens.I probably might buy it because of the features i saw when reading through its Specifications and Functions.
gabriela One of the better phones I've used! I used it for a year. Now I´m waiting for th S65. For radio & MP3 buy a music player....this phone it´s a jewel!
Vicki I had this phone for over a year, I now have the C65. I am a big fan of Siemens phones. The only problem I had with this one was the keypad falling apart. The first time Siemens repaired it, but the second time I had to do it myself, which was easy and cheap, but still not what I'd expect from a phone of this cost. Anyone else had a similar problem?
