Sharp GX29 Details
ShadyGlen Im finding this is a great little phone. Not sure why ppl's keypad not ligthing up as mine does, but enough of that and onto why I'm making a comment.
Some ppl have said that they cant assign ring tones to contacts. Took me a few hours but have figured out how. As you will know "contacts" can be saved to the sim or the phone. The assign ringtone (to a contact) option can only be done if the contact is saved to your phone or both(NOT just to the sim) Its easy to shift a contact from one to the other so that should solve ppl's problem.
Hope that saves a few ppl pulling their hair out. lol
carlos and generala this is the best phone in the world because it has great pictures video and even bluethoot all this for 99.
90 euros please not in a milion years we gonna have such a good phone with this quality and price.
Ramm PLEASE tell me how can I activate the flip to answer the calls !! thanks
Chris This phone is light and simple clean and classy looking without trying too hard. I like the keys they are positive and feel nice, the sound quality of calls is much better than my last phone which was a sony ericson. The screen is very good too.
My gripes are on the functionallity end. Firstly you have a calendar which is good but you have an option to put a calendar on your startup screen. The only thing is if your eyes are not that good like mine, the fonts are difficult to read, and you dont have an option to change them.
Also the calculator, the 9 6 and 8 all run together and make it very hard to distinguish clearly what you are looking at, and again you can not change the fonts to make it clearer.
Also on my last phone I had a stopwatch, which was useful if I wanted to mediate, I could set for a hours and it would count down. This phone appears not to have this facility to set a count down times.
Also there is no snooze option on the alarm so if you miss it and fall asleeep it will not keep coming again to wake you, which I had on the last phone.
As I say the sound quality is good and it feels nice generally but I AM disapointed by the functionality, and it is just small things which just take a bit of thinking about, not things which would be difficult to fix at all. So a bit disapointed with sharp over this.
The hardward part is great though, and I feel good about the actual object. But only 7 out of 10 I am affraid. Though I guess I will get used to it.

<unknown> I've has this phone for about 3 months and I find that charging it is the pits. Sometimes the charger works and sometimes it doesn't - you have to fiddle around with it for ages
JoNax (portugal) hello to all
i have been reading the posts and telling that the sharp gx29 doesn´t turn the lights on on the keypad at night that doesnt make any since..... the oldest mobile turns the ligths on on the keypad..... im going to buy this mobile in 15 days.but.should i buy it ?? i wrote many messages at nigth....
Kirstie A great phone - stylish and good functionality. MUCH longer battery life than my previous Samsung. But, does anyone know whether it has an active flip and how you set it to answer calls upon opening? Can't find any info on this... Thanks.
Katie This phone is so god withthe excellent zoom camera and video you dont get that with many other phones!!
RB Just upgraded my faithful Nokia to the GX29 and I am very pleased so far. I tend to stick to Nokias as a rule as they are so easy to navigate but thought i would try something new, I am glad I did! Very similar menu options to Nokia and the picture quality is very good.
Well worth a go!
<unknown> im from HK....and one of the mobile network company has launched this phone.... and they always rename their phone to another name, e.g 903sh = SX833, 703sh = sx313, 705sh = sx633..... and this phone is called gx293..i really want to know y the crap they put a "3" there next to the name.....btw, i really hate smartone-vodafone actually... they are a lame mobile network company in hk... only they can launch sharp phones and on the phones they erase the name vodafone which is under the red logo..... they are really lame
