mik hey guys, my method is(and this works for everybody else too)...

1)find a legal music clip that has copyright (cuz the phone can tell). it doesnt have to be long. a few seconds is enough. lets say this file is called "A"
2)open your favourite song in itunes and convert it into AAC format. lets call this song "B"
3)send both to your phone using anyway you like (bluetooth, minisd...) but it has to be in phone memory, not minisd memory
4)assign "A" as ringtone. try it to make sure it works.
5)delete "A". rename your original "B" file into "A"
6)Ta-Da!

minik just got this phone and a 1 gb minisd, hoping to put some of my own and friends music onto the media player, but im having trouble working out where to put the files? also, even after lame conversion to constant bitrate w/128kbps the files in my sounds & ringtons are not playing.

i have the japanese version.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

<unknown> When I convert my mp3 into aac file using itunes, it does turn into mp4. I save it to my phone and not just in my memory card, and still, it won't let me set it as a ringtone...I can only listen to it and not be able to use it as a ringtone... =(

<unknown> Hello, I've just bought this phone of of ebay and it's seems really great! Only... it tells me that my sim card is "unregistered"... the phone is locked to vodafone and my sim card is a vodafone sim so I don't see why it's not working...

Mark I have no problems assigning mp3 ringtones, I have a vodafone UK version bought when it was first released, so unless they have changed the copyright features in later software it should play ANY mp3 as a ringtone. The only thing you need to make sure is that the track has been saved to the phone memory. It will not let you assign any track or video that is on the memory card.

Austra Is there any possible way to install Java Games or Applications on this phone, due to the fact that the Sharp 903 phone has a trick thats possible to do such things. If possible please adivise or tell us how it is possible.

am using sharp 703 shf.its very good quality camera phone. its 4m vodafone. but now it unlock & using in sri lanka.but now it have some problems, i cant play mp3, i cant download mp3,and very low specker volume.
plz help me to this point.
1, i dont know why i cant play mp3 and what is compatible site 4 download mp3, coz when i try to download, i can see message ,DOCUMENT HAVE NO RITES TO VIEW.

2,how can i have good speaker volume???

mik any legal, copyrighted mp3 can be used for ringtone. my method is only for if you want to put a song in there that you downloaded yourself via bt or other ways. if you still want, i can post up my file for you.
