NEC N900iG Details

Abhishek Can this handset play MP4 video?

<unknown> This phone will only work with DoCoMo Japan, and in roaming mode outside Japan. You cannot make with phone work with any other carrier other than FOMA. DO NOT buy it if you are not going to live in Japan.

finder i found a n900ig i was wondering how much is worth

Masahiko Ohno I know for sure that it is impossible to use a non-japanese SIM card, because the card reader in the docomo is not for SIM cards but fore FOMA card, which are completely different.

<unknown> Generally FOMA handsets operate on a different spec from UMTS, and are not compatible on any network other than Docomo. But, foreign UMTS handsets can roam on docomo's network where they have compatible equipment. Moreover, I can use my Docomo Foma card and my Nokia 6630 (sim-free) and have no problems with reception or IMode access in my city.

About the N900iG...I guess some factory unlocked models were shipped, but not so many. And it doesn't look like any more will ship. Too bad.
